DANBURY — The Danbury girls track and field team continued its dominance with a victory over Darien and Norwalk in a tri-meet on Tuesday. Hatters senior Nyoshee Lowry took home three first-place finishes as she won the 110 hurdles (15.0), the 300 hurdles (46.2) and the 200 (25.4).

Man who caught burglary suspects charged with kidnap
A North Canterbury business owner who apprehended two men accused of burglary at his Kaiapoi drilling company has appeared in court on kidnap charges after he “delivered” them to police.

Raiders choose Picker to replace hamstrung Galea against Dogs
CANBERRA were dealt a blow yesterday when second-rower Danny Galea was ruled out of tonight’s clash with Canterbury with a hamstring injury. He will be replaced by Joe Picker. The Bulldogs, who travelled to Canberra yesterday, are expected to be as named. Jamal Idris will break camp with NSW to play and then rejoin the Blues as their 18th man.

SCHOLASTIC ROUNDUP: Ridgefield boys notch lacrosse win over Danbury
Andrew Buckanavage, Timmy Kelly and Sean Riley each scored three goals to lift the Ridgefield High boys lacrosse team to a 19-3 victory over Danbury on Saturday night. John Foristall led Danbury with two goals. Ridgefield scored 10 goals in the second quarter to break the game open.
